Sundays

Sundays are always lazy, yet productive for me. I've finished most of my schoolwork for the semester (just waiting on taking 3 finals!) so besides reading a few books, my to-do list is usually short!
I did the usual Sunday things, grocery shopping and laundry, and some cleaning around the flat. Exciting right?

I thought I had my living arrangements all set for second semester until a few days ago. The plan was to live with my brother in his new house, since it's close to campus and would be much cheaper than the housing near school. Yadda yadda apparently after a few months of being in his house by himself, he's decided he's too accustomed to the privacy of living alone and he is having second thoughts about me living in his guest-room.

I'm thankful that my parents live only 20ish minutes from school, but the thought of living at home during my senior spring semester kind of bums me out. To keep my spirits up, I've decided if I end up living at home, I want to completely re-do my room so I at least feel like I'm not living in my same old room. (In my opinion, half the excitement of living in off-campus housing is DECORATING the new place!)

I've been snooping around weheartit (shocker) and saved some more bedroom inspirations.
I am absolutely obsessed with big headboards like the one in the last picture.

  1. Random q: where do you grocery shop there? haha

  2. Sainsburys! There's a big one maybe 5mins (on a bus) from my apartment and it has everything.

Usually there are the smaller convenience stores that have "local" or "express" in the name and they don't have as much stuff, but I'll stop by there to get milk or something quick and make a trip to Sainsburys on the weekends for everything else.

The locals/express shops are sometimes more expensive too so if you can find an area that has a sainsburys nearby, you're golden!

I've seen commercials for Marks&Spencers, Asda, and Waitrose but there aren't any near me so I'm not sure how they compare to Sainsburys.

  3. Ah. I'm a cashier at a well known grocery store here in the south, so I'm oddly fascinated by grocery stores in other countries haha. I'll have to check out Sainsbury's while there. I've heard of M&S, and have been in one, but it was more or less like a gas station convenience store. I've seen & heard of Waitrose as well. I've heard they're pretty well known there, but that also makes there stuff cost more too. But i'll check out Sainsbury's next time I'm there. (I talk about it like i'm there every week or something. I wish.)

  4. I think it depends on where the M&S is; some are so big that they sell clothing! But usually the bigger ones are outside the city areas.

But I definitely recommend Sainsburys. I try to get the generic Sainsburys brand stuff & save a lot of money!
