I 've been obsessed with Speak Now for the past few days. Although I had a bunch of songs from Fearless on my itunes, I usually skipped them and was one of those people that only knew Taylor's radio singles (I know, I know, how horrible of me!) But I am really digging the new one.
At first I thought some of the songs were a tad crazy (ex writing about John Mayer? really?) but hey, it's good publicity in the long run & this lady can write some fierce lyrics, am I right?
I think my favorite has to be "Never Grow Up". With graduation in 6ish months, I am going through the phase of thinking "Where the heck have the last 21 years of my life gone?" All through highschool my friends and I would talk about how we couldn't wait to get out of town and move away on our own. And now after doing this in London and New York, home is the only place I want to be.
Also can I just mention that Speak Now sold over a million records in its first week. And as a music industry major, this excites me haha. It's weird thinking that a decade ago, big acts like Nsync or BSB would sell a million records their first DAY of being released, and now it's a huge deal that a million people would buy an album period. Music industry bounce back? I sure hope so.
Her new album is the only thing I've been listening to in the past week. I love it! It's so good.
