last day in nyc!

It's so crazy insane to think that my 10 weeks in new york city are OVER!
My younger sister came down yesterday to hangout for the weekend before my dad comes tomorrow to pack up all my stuff.

It's only 4:30pm and we explored so many things today!
We went to a ton of stores around Herald Square (F21, H&M, Old Navy etc etc), Chipotle, Crumbs cupcakes, Urban Outfitters, & Dylan's Candy Bar! And of course our first stop early this morning was walking by Kleinfeld's (yes, from Say Yes to The Dress).

I'm preggers again today, this time with a cupcake baby.

I haven't packed anything (oops?) so for the rest of the night that's what I'll be doing. And probably going to Pinkberry one last time.

food baby!

It's only 3pm but alas, I am already pregnant with a food baby. A wonderful one at that!

With tomorrow being my last day at my internship, and today being my friend Nicole's last day, we thought we would treat ourselves to lunch at a sandwich shop called Toasties!
We have an on-going joke about the place because at least 4-5 people from our office order from there every single day.

Behold, the Smoke Jack that is now in my belly!

I'm the only intern that comes in on Fridays so tomorrow is going to be very lonely, but I'm very excited. My sister is coming to spend the weekend with me before I move out of my building so I'm sure I'm going to be full of food babies all weekend. Our list of "things to do" includes: pinkberry, crumbs cupcakes, red bamboo & famous rays pizza!

Also, can I just mention how in exactly one month from tomorrow, I will be on a plane to London!?

things i love...

With just 3 days left of interning, my motivation has gone from 1000% to barely above 0. I'm so anxious to get home to see my friends & family that it's taking a toll on my focus.

No matter, I am posting a whole lot of OWLS to cheer me up.
I love love love owls & everything that they represent. With my "family tree" cherry blossoms tattoo and little owl tattoo, I like to say that I will always have family & wisdom by my side.

4 (and a half?) days left!

Wow I guess I didn't realize I had neglected updates for a whole week!
I'm moving back to Syracuse this weekend so I desperately needed to have some of my stuff be brought home, or else I'd never fit it in my dad's car.

Turns out it was cheaper for me to physically bring the stuff on the bus with me than have it shipped via fedex or ups!

I got home pretty late friday and spent most of my saturday with my best friend madison!
The Chinese Buffet is a tradition for us haha so we ate & then did a lot of shopping.
I got an amazing brown "leather" jacket from target & I'm ready for the weather to be cool so I can wear it!

My sister is coming this weekend so we can explore the city one last time before I leave.
What should we do!?

a good case of the mondays!

I woke up this morning feeling totally drained & exhausted. I'm not sure if the weekend had caught up with me or what but I was sure the day was going to be rough.

My supervisor told me she had to assist at a photoshoot all afternoon so after I finished my to-do list I just got to hang around and work leisurely! Which was all I could really ask for after how I felt in the am.

Last night at the gym, Kaelah mentioned that her friend Lisa wanted to get dinner tonight and I was so happy she invited me to come along! We headed down to the St. Marks area (which I have to say, is one of my favorite places to go) and ate at an adorable little place called the Yaffa Cafe. I got tomato basil pasta with chicken and it was DELICIOUS. I could eat pasta all day, everyday.

Afterwards we were craving some dessert and decided to head over to a Ben&Jerry's shop where I got this lovely creation of cookies, "Bonnaroo" ice cream, and whipped cream:

My eyes & brain were definitely making the decision for my tummy because I could barely finish half of it! I am now sporting a food baby bump.

It's so nice to get to spend time with new friends! It will definitely be bittersweet going home in 2 short weeks

yes this is a warped tour post.

Every summer since I was 13 (with the exception of the summer I was on tour) I've gone to Warped Tour & loved every single minute of it - and yesterday was no different.

I wasn't planning on going because I was worried about how hot it was going to be, especially since the long island date is in a parking lot vs the big field I'm used to at the Buffalo date. But I knew in the end that I would severely regret the decision of not going so on Saturday morning, after 3+ hours of traffic, I finally got to Nassau Coliseum.

I don't want to bore with 10 hours of details haha but these are the bands I managed to watch:
The Summer Set, The Cab, We The Kings, The All American Rejects, Sum 41, Suicide Silence, Enter Shikari, Polar Bear Club & of course, Four Year Strong. (I'm sure I'm forgetting some others).

All in all, I took over 500 pictures!

Is anyone out there a solid warped fanatic like I am?

shall we say a mini revelation?

Today was definitely one of the longest days I've had so far in the city. My supervisor was out for the day so she gave me a pretty big to-do list. Most of the intern computers have various programs that we need to use but none of them have all the necessary things so I literally was on 2-3 computers all day! hah I never, ever use macs but had to for most of the day (one had the email program while the other had our database) so I was proud to take this picture.
Usually when I have to use the mac at work, I send messages to my mac-savvy friends telling them how proud I am of myself.

After I finished my to-do list at 6, one of the other publicists was having a crisis with something that her intern had done & left earlier that day so I thought, what the heck this is what I'm here for.

I ended up staying at the office until almost 8 helping her fix a mailing that needed to go out first thing tomorrow. But I can say I really didn't mind because today was the first time I really got to see how dedicated & motivated the assistants are at this company. I got there at 10 and left around 8 - and half the staff was still working away as I was walking out the door. One even said she had to bartend later!

Everyone always says that people have to hussle and do so much to make it in new york city, but it really, really never dawned on me until today that is is totally true.

Right after I got home from interning, I went to Duane Reade, bought some chips (that I then ate for dinner in the elevator) ran into my room to change, and went to the gym with Kaelah.

Non-stop since 8am this morning!

..And I wouldn't have it any other way.

the end of an..era?

okay okay so I didn't take this picture per se, but I felt like posting it because like (many?) other girls, I am watching the Hills finale! It's weird to think that it's been on for 6 years and I don't think I've missed a single episode. And now it's over for good.
I'll admit that it's gone wayy downhill since the first few seasons (ie after Lauren Conrad left) but I still find it entertaining. Also, can we just talk about how different Heidi looks in the above picture vs her whack face post-plastic surgery?!

On the bright side, a new season of Teen Mom is taking it's slot on MTV starting next week!
Talk about a show that I'm sucked into. As much as I want little babies asap, I can't begin to imagine the struggles those girls face everyday.

i am addicted to cereal.

no really, i think i am! hence my "daily photo" of some special k i was just munching on.

Since mid-january i've been loosely following the special k diet (read: i do it on the weekdays & break it on the weekends haha) but i can absolutely say that i love love love it!
I know it doesn't seem like a lot to lose over 7 months, but since I started eating more cereal and less junk, i've lost (and kept off) almost 20 pounds! yayy

Kaelah and i have been going to the gym almost everyday & are in love with these new elliptical-bike machines! 500 calories / hour basically =D

And now as i munch on cereal, i am laughing at the drama happening over on the real housewives on new jersey. does anyone else enjoy it?
i dont know what it is, but i find myself watching the new episodes religiously every monday.
it's scary to think that there are adults out there that act like they are in middle school.

retail therapy!

Man oh man I do enjoy some retail therapy & I got a lot in this weekend!

My mom came with my stepdad on friday night/saturday to celebrate his birthday & we accomplished more tourist-y things in one day than I thought was humanly possible.
In order we:
Went to the flagship Macy's store, hungout in Bryant park, toured the NY Public Library, took a horse carriage ride through central park, explored & ate in little italy and then back again to Herald Square for more shopping.

I was beyond exhausted by the time I got in on Saturday night (but not too tired to watch independence day because yanno it is one of my favorite movies ever).

Then this morning I had breakfast with them, went back to macys & returned a dress to forever 21 before Kaelah and I went on a great adventure to Canal Street and Brooklyn!

I am glad that Kaelah is better than I am at getting good deals on bags on Canal street because we managed to each get really cute bags for cheap!
My goal for the day was to find a decent sized Chanel with a chain strap and behold the beauty

Kaelah got the same but in a gorgeous red!

We also found these! (I got coral, Kaelah got white!)

The Ikea in Brooklyn wasn't too far away from Canal street so we took the subway & shuttle bus to the store and were in complete heaven. I've had my eyes on a certain picture frame there for months (seriously) but since the Brooklyn or Toronto stores are the closest thing to Syracuse, I never had a chance to get it until today!

I'm really excited to find some nice fabric or canvas to put on the inside instead of an actual picture.

Afterwards we headed up to St. Marks for Red Mango & I have to admit, the key lime pie flavor kicks any flavor over at pinkberry, hands down!

Best weekend I've had in the city for sure!

jumping on the bandwagon

I am such a slacker when it comes to updating this so to get motivated, I'm borrowing Kaelah's idea of posting a photo each day!

I am so seriously addicted to forever 21. Since yesterday, I have been to the Union Square, Herald Towers and Times Square stores =X

It's weird to say but I am kind of bummed that I won't be working there until at least January =[
